Beverley Copnell

Bev is a Senior Research Fellow with the Centre of Research Excellence in Patient Safety (CREPS). Her work focuses on the use of data to improve quality. Bev’s background is in paediatric intensive care nursing. She completed a PhD at RMIT University in 2004, researching change in clinical nursing activities from the perspective of critical care nurses.

Bev has undertaken postdoctoral work as a member of the Neonatal Respiratory Research Group at the Murdoch Childrens Research Institute and Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne. Previous research has focused on nursing education, the implementation of the Nurse Practitioner role, and various aspects of clinical nursing practice. She maintains an active interest in paediatric intensive care nursing and is a member of the Board of Directors of the World Federation of Pediatric Intensive and Critical Care Societies (WFPICCS)
