Dr Deborah Roberts

Deborah is currently a Senior Research Fellow for the Centre of Research Excellence in Patient Safety (CREPS) and teaches in the Masters program in the Health Services Management Unit, Department of Epidemiology and Preventive Medicine.  Deborah Roberts has a professional background in health services management and research focus interests include aged care and service delivery models for the populations with chronic and complex health care needs. 

Deborah completed a PhD at The University of Melbourne, Department of General Practice and Public Health specialising in health services management research. Her doctoral studies focused on evolving care coordination/management models in Australia, particularly exploring the role of case managers.  Originally from the USA, she completed her undergraduate work at The University of Texas at Austin and has held appointments at The Texas State Department of Health and Emory University in Atlanta Georgia.  Deborah has held various management positions in the public and private acute health sector and more recently in residential aged care. 

Deborah is internationally published in the health services management and public health field and has presented a number of papers at international conferences.  She is currently coordinating a prospective longitudinal observational study on aged care clients in the community sector.
