Judy Lowthian

Judy is a research fellow and project coordinator in the Centre for Research Excellence in Patient Safety.
Judy’s professional background is in speech pathology, having worked in both public and private sectors in Adelaide, Bristol in the United Kingdom, and Melbourne. She has extensive clinical experience in the rehabilitation of patients following stroke and head injury; and in the management of an interdisciplinary paediatric habilitation and rehabilitation unit.
Judy completed her Master of Public Health through Monash University, in 2007 specialising in the Clinical Epidemiology stream, whilst working with the Cabrini-Deakin Centre for Nursing Research at Cabrini Hospital.
Judy has a specific research interest in improving patient care and patient safety, and is keen to incorporate her experience with patients, families and carers. She is currently coordinating a project aimed at improving the care management of patients being treated with warfarin.
