Judy Lowthian
MPH, B App Sc (Sp.Path), L.Mus.A., MSPAA, CPSP
Judy is a research fellow and project coordinator in the Centre for Research Excellence in Patient Safety.
Judy’s professional background is in speech pathology, having worked in both public and private sectors in Adelaide, Bristol in the United Kingdom, and Melbourne. She has extensive clinical experience in the rehabilitation of patients following stroke and head injury; and in the management of an interdisciplinary paediatric habilitation and rehabilitation unit.
Judy completed her Master of Public Health through Monash University, in 2007 specialising in the Clinical Epidemiology stream, whilst working with the Cabrini-Deakin Centre for Nursing Research at Cabrini Hospital.
Judy has a specific interest in health services research and improving patient care.
She is the recipient of an NHMRC postgraduate research scholarship, and her PhD is entitled "Increasing demand for emergency patient services: underlying drivers, implications and potential solutions"
