Tobias Grundgeiger

Dipl. Psych. (University of Regensburg, Germany)

Tobi was born in Germany and finished his Diploma at the University of Regensburg in psychology in 2006. Tobi joined the Cognitive Engineering Research Group at the University of Queensland in  February 2007 to do his PhD. After completing his studies in experimental psychology, Tobi's goals are to investigate applied areas while still contributing to general knowledge about human cognition.

In his thesis Tobi investigates how interruptions and failure of prospective memory - the ability to recall an earlier formed intention at a specific time or point in the future - might contribute to errors in the medical domain. The aim is to describe and understand this phenomenon and develop counter measures based on psychological theory to improve patient safety.
